Down The TBR Hole #11

down the tbr hole book books blog diary of difference

I am always excited when doing this, and a few days before Christmas, I am in the mood of just keeping all books, so I know this will be a tough one.

Credit for this tag goes to Lost in a Story.

How it works:

❤ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
❤ Order on ascending date added.
❤ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books.
❤ Read the synopsis of the books.
❤ Decide: keep it or should it go

Here’s the next patch:

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi

I did a summer challenge this year, where I read books that my sister recommended. Some of the books were cringy, but some of them were hidden gems and I am so grateful to her for letting me find them. This is one of the recommendations, but I never got to read it. I am keeping it, as I am curious how it will turn out.

Verdict: KEEP  ☑

Toil & Trouble: 15 Tales of Women & Witchcraft by Tess Sharpe

Look at that cover! Ever since I saw it, I wanted to have it! And I kept hearing amazing stories, and I love witches and witchcraft. Can’t let go of this one.

Verdict: KEEP  ☑

The Lonely Hearts Hotel by Heather O’Neill

Again, very hard choice, as I had this book on my TBR for a very long time, but every time I read that synopsis, I keep being reminded how much I need it.

Verdict: KEEP  ☑

The Love of Her Life by Harriet Evans

I used to love reading these types of books, but at the moment I am not in a mood for chick-lit.

Verdict:  REMOVE ✖

Bridge of Clay by Markus Zusak

Markus Zusak? Yes, please! But this time, I will remove this book, because I already have a few other books from him on my list.

Verdict: REMOVE ✖

The English Agent by Clare Harvey

After reading The Night Raid, I had to read another another book from Clare Harvey. Looking forward to read this one.

Verdict: KEEP ☑

The Astrologer’s Daughter by Rebecca Lim

I am not sure why I have this book on my list. Seems alright, but not interesting enough to keep my attention.

Verdict:  REMOVE ✖

Murder at the Vicarage (Miss Marple #1) by Agatha Christie

I love Agatha Christie, and I loved the type of mystery she writes. This is the first book from the Miss Marple series, and I have to read it. AND SOON!

Verdict: KEEP  ☑

Come Sundown by Nora Roberts

The Obsession by Nora Roberts

I am putting both of the Nora Roberts books together, because I will remove them both. No particular reason, I actually love reading her novels. But she has so many, and I have a lot of them on my TBR, so I decided to only keep one at a time from her, starting from the ones I would want to read the most. And these two don’t seem that interesting at the moment.

Verdict: REMOVE ✖

My TBR has improved so much!!! I am so happy, and looking forward to listing all my books and reducing my TBR even more. I managed to remove 5 books this week.

Let me know if you have read any of these, and if you want me to keep or remove any of these books from my list! I look forward to see what you think!

  1. I was originally born in Skopje, Macedonia and I moved to the UK in June 2016, to follow my dreams. My biggest dream is to be able to do what I love full-time, while I travel the world in a hippie camper van and always be near the sun.

  2. Since I was able to walk, I have been practising martial arts – karate in particular. I am a black belt, and a national champion in Macedonia for 7 years. I used to travel a lot during these times, and those experiences are the best experiences I have ever had in my life! This is all thanks to my father – who is my karate coach.

  3. I used to do Amateur Photography. I even have my own wanna be-professional-camera 🙂 I still use it to take some of the bookish photos on my Instagram Page. And this is all thanks to Marija, my bestie, who is a photographer. Check out her Instagram page– it’s amazing!

Down The TBR Hole #1

1. What book do you recommend to absolutely everyone you can?

This would have to be Circe by Madeline Miller. If you haven’t read it yet – please do so as soon as you can. It’s a masterpiece.

2. What is your greatest phobia?

I have a fear of spiders and snakes.

3. What is the last show you binge-watched?

Well, Young Sheldon and Big Bang Theory are on at the moment, so I am watching this. But I am also catching up on Grey’s Anatomy and Naruto.

4. If you could click your fingers right now and be anywhere in the world – where would you be?

I would be somewhere sunny, on a beach, next to my camping van, reading a book and enjoying the day as best as I can.

5. How do you kill time on long journeys?

You don’t ask a book blogger this question 🙂 I read. I read a lot. And when I am not reading, I am probably sleeping, or staring at the landscapes, trying to remember how everything looks as best as I can.

flower-divider-flower-dividers-clip-art-flowers-line-divider-stock-vector-illustration-of-elegant5 Questions for my nominees:

  1. What was the last book you DNF?

  3. What are three things in the world you can’t live without?

  4. Who is your favourite fictional character?

  5. What is the first book you remember reading in your childhood?

Do You Remember Morph?

Hello guys! Today someone surprised me with Morph. Do you guys remember him?

Morph is an amazing animation that started in 1977 in the UK. This card comes from there too. He is 12cm tall and he is always made from a lump of clay. He has his own YouTube Channel and even 38 years later, you can still watch him there.

Here is a video of him, to remind all of us about this adorable creature, that we all love.

“The common reader” – Virginia Woolf

Okay, book lovers! This one is for you!

Second of this type of postcards that I get. The first from Penguin, and this one from Pelican books. Haven’t read “The common reader” by Virginia Woolf, so I can’t tell much about it. I have seen the goodreads review, and it seems like an interesting plot.

Have you read it? I want you to tell me everything about it 🙂 I’d love to hear your comments 😀

Also, not to forget, the special thanks to a postcrossing user from Hong Kong. It is my first card from Hong Kong, and I will remember HK-396282. Vicki, thank you for the card! I am a book lover too, and I love this postcard so, so much!

New York City

Do you have fear from big cities? I kinda do. I live in a capital, and it’s so crowded that it sometimes scares me. I guess I just want to visit those big cities, but not live in them.

However, that doesn’t take away their beauty. They all have something very special in them. Same with New York. I’d love to go there and see everything it has to offer.

Thanks to /u/MyBFFRose, I had a chance to see New York for a second on this lovely pictures craved in the letters of the city. I wish I could see it at night, with all the lights on, and I wish I could see it by day, with all the traffic it has 😀
