Down the TBR Hole is my favourite tag. I love re-reviewing my TBR list and clearing out some books I might never read.
Credit for this tag goes to Lost in a Story.
How it works:
❤ Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
❤ Order on ascending date added.
❤ Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books.
❤ Read the synopsis of the books.
❤ Decide: keep it or should it go
Here’s the next patch:
Which ones will I keep?
➥ Beartown (Beartown, #1) by Fredrik Backman
I know that I added this book to my TBR because everyone was saying I have to read it, but I never had to urge to go and buy it. I will remove it for now. Maybe one day it will come in my arms by just fate.
Verdict: REMOVE ✖
➥ Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
A circus book – yes, please. I have watched the movie, and I am sure the book is much more prettier!
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ The Little Bookshop of Lonely Hearts (Lonely Hearts Bookshop, #1) by Annie Darling
I read the second book in this series back in March, and I loved it. I will keep this, just to remind me I need to complete the whole series.
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Crazy in Love at the Lonely Hearts Bookshop (Lonely Hearts Bookshop, #3) by Annie Darling
This is the third book from the series above, and I will remove this one now, as I have the first book on my TBR.
Verdict: REMOVE ✖
➥ The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan
I myself am a person that keeps small things in the house. I usually use them for crafts or something similar, but I have a little bit of something all the time. This book seems so adorable, and the cover is so colourful and gorgeous. I am sure it will be an amazing read.
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward
I remember a lot of hype around this book, but I am not sure if I will ever read it. Have any of you guys read this one? What do you think?
Verdict: REMOVE ✖
➥ Sourdough by Robin Sloan
Interesting plot was the reason this book is on my TBR. I am definitely keeping this one.
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ The Bear and the Nightingale (Winternight Trilogy, #1) by Katherine Arden
I am a sucker for fairy tales. Yes, yes, yes!
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Into the Water by Paula Hawkins
A mystery and thriller winner of Goodreads awards in 2017. I think I need to read this one, to satisfy my craving soul for mysteries.
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Confucius’ Social Wisdom by Pavan Choudary
I own this book, as I have won it on a Goodreads Giveaway (back in the days when Goodreads did giveaways in the UK – I am still upset about that.) Honestly, I don’t read such books, but I do have a note to myself to review each book I ever get given, as it’s the least I can do for someone that put the effort into sending me something.
Verdict: KEEP ☑
This time I only removed 3 out of 10. Still not the best score, but I have made a big progress with my TBR.
Let me know if you have read any of these, and if you want me to keep or remove any of these books from my list! I look forward to see what you think!

See, that’s the problem, you simply cannot decide until you read some pages. I find if I can’t get past two chapters, DNF. I have to like the book before I read the whole thing,
I agree with you. But for me, it’s also important to want to read the book before I start it – to want to know more than what the synopsis discovers.
I don’t tend to DNF a lot, mostly because I carefully choose the books I read, but when I do, I know it from the first few chapters as well.
I really love these posts! I definitely want to do one (at least!) myself when things have slowed down at Uni 😅
