Welcome to the 37th edition of my Down The TBR Hole Posts.
This weekend I have the hardest decision to make ever…
How Down the TBR Hole works:
❤ 1. Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
❤ 2. Order on ascending date added.
❤ 3. Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books.
❤ 4. Read the synopsis of the books.
❤ 5. Time to Decide: keep it or should it go
Here’s the next patch:
➥ Wildcard (Warcross, #2) by Marie Lu
I read Warcross and I loved it. Fun note, my boyfriend also read it, and he hated it. I can see a lot of mixed feelings around this one. But I did love it, and I will continue reading it.
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle, #1) by Christopher Paolini
An evergreen, a tale I am surprised I haven’t read yet. I have to do this soon, don’t I?
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ The Princess and the Fangirl(Once Upon a Con, #2) by Ashley Poston
Have you guys read Geekerella? I loved it. And this is the second part. I am definitely keeping it, and if you enjoy princess diaries type of books, with a bit of geekiness into it, go for it!
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ The Defense (Eddie Flynn #1) by Steve Cavanagh
I am not sure about this one. On one side, I want to read it, because I love books about murders, and I love books about trials, where people find clues, and share a story, and then twist a plot. But I don’t own it, and I can’t see myself buying it… Not sure on this one. What do you think – should I keep it?
Verdict: MAYBE ☑ ✖
➥ Fire and Blood: A History of the Targaryen Kings from Aegon the Conqueror to Aegon III (A Targaryen History, #1) by George R. R. Martin
With the hype of Game of Thrones, we all want to read more. And George, we all want to read the last Game of Thrones book – so please finish it? Pretty please? I am keeping this one, of course. I am lucky enough to also own it in a hardback version as well!
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Red Queen (Red Queen, #1) by Victoria Aveyard
I don’t know what the hype is about, but there’s one way to find out… I have to read it…
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Binti (Binti, #1) by Nnedi Okorafor
Yes, a hundred times yes. Everything about this book intrigues me.
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Whose Body? (Lord Peter Wimsey, #1) by Dorothy L. Sayers
I think I will pass on this one – not sure why, I just lost interest, I believe…
Verdict: REMOVE ✖
➥ Shadow and Bone (The Shadow and Bone Trilogy, #1) by Leigh Bardugo
Again, a book that has been getting a lot of hype. One way to find out, again…
Verdict: KEEP ☑
➥ Scythe (Arc of a Scythe, #1) by Neal Shusterman
I own Scythe, and I am so excited to read it, I just haven’t had the time. I need to add ”TBR Hole books” prompt to my monthly TBR, don’t you think?
Verdict: KEEP ☑
I only removed only 1 book this time. When it comes to genres I love, I have a weakness. I currently have 374 books on my TBR list. This is how my TBR list looks now.
Which books would you keep or remove? Let me know in the comments.
What would TBR Hole mean?
Hi Susan, it’s a metaphor for Alice in the Wonderland’s rabbit hole. I go through my TBR(To-Be Read) list and decide which books I should keep or let go.
Ok hold on I’m confused (often the case lol)..Isnt that what you just did (and thank God you kept Scythe)! Why would you have to add that tag?
The tag exists so other can find me. If you search for it, you’ll find many other bloggers that do it too. It’s similar to hashtags, for example 🙂 hope this helps
Ohhhh a hashtag… got it yes I know what a hashtag is… just wasn’t connecting the dots. Sometimes I need an etch a sketch. Lol sorry ☺
No worries 🙂 Happy to help, always!
I too feel like I should read Eragon, though I still haven’t yet, either!
