Halloween Is Coming!

Boo! Halloween is coming!

This will be my first real celebration of Halloween since I moved in the UK. I didn’t celebrate it last year, but now I have moved into a house on the ground floor, and I can actually put decorations and greet little scary kids, so I am really looking forward to the 31st of October.

Do you have any tips for me, as a first time celebrator?

In the postcard that Anouk sent me from The Netherlands, he writes that he hates Halloween, because he is easily scared.

And here I am, not really sure what to do, and how to properly celebrate it. I shall put decorations in front of my house, and a pumpkin, which symbolizes that you want kids knocking on your door. I have already bought candies and a lot of little surprises, and I am all hyped up, even though there are 3 weeks to go until Halloween actually comes.

What is your experience with Halloween? I am looking forward to hearing your answers 🙂

The Art Of Carl Larsson In A Postcard

postcard
Brita in the drawing room – painted by Carl Larsson

When the love for receiving postcard will combine with the love of art, this is what happens.

It makes my day!

For those that are not aware, Carl Larsson was a Swedish painter, mostly painting using oils, watercolors, and frescoes. He considered his finest work to be Midvinterblot (Midwinter Sacrifice), a large painting now displayed inside the Swedish National Museum of Fine Arts.

The postcard that I have received is called Brita in the Drawing Room.

I really love it and this that it is ahead of its time.

What do you think? Do you like it?

Suzy Spitfire Kills Everybody – a book review

Thank you Joe Canzano for sending me this beautiful book!

The name of the book is: ”Suzy Spitfire Kills Everybody” – Joe Canzano and you can find it on this link.

First of all – this book is AWESOME. The character of Suzy is described so perfectly well, and it fits her role and it reminds me of myself so much, that I was laughing at scenes in the book where I probably shouldn’t.

The scenes are amazing. This book takes you to an incredible adventure in time and space, introducing a new world, different than the one you are used to, and it takes you all the way in – leaving you breathless until the last page.

It is a story where Suzy kills her uncle and she’s not wanted on Earth. But soon she finds out that her father has been killed, and he has created something that endangers the whole universe. With a great motive behind her, she is determined to find that little something and save the world? Or is she?

With the great help of many others that she is not sure whether they’re trustworthy until the very end, she goes into this adventure, ready to lose it all, just for a very strong motive of unconditional love – even if it means her death.

Definitely a must read for every single person that loves fantasy, mystery, adventure, romance, thriller. It is all well put into this incredible book.

What is your favourite book?

If you never try, you’ll never know

Hello guys. I hope you’re doing fine.
I always want to try new stuff. And I have tried many new stuff this period.

It’s the unknown that makes me curious, and I want to learn it all. One of the things that made me curious was painting with watercolors. Since I do handmade postcards, I tried to make some handmade watercolor postcards, and I threw so many paper, because it wasn’t good, and I kept some, not worth taking a picture of, and then I made this one, which I really adore. It seems watercolor postcards will be my new favourite stuff to make.  😀

I still have a lot more work to do and upgrade my skills, especially with watercolors, but I am determined to do it. What do you guys think about this?

Always a child in my heart

image

Don’t forget to always stay a child in your heart!

Sometimes I think about growing up. And no, it doesn’t scare me, it’s just… it’s not how I imagined life. I don’t want worries and fears about tomorrow.

I want a life, like a child has. Not to worry about a single thing, just to live each day like it is the last one! Laugh a lot, do crazy stuff, buy an RV and travel the world. Quit your job, which doesn’t make you happy and go around the world and do what you always wanted to do. Sing, dance, laugh, paint, cook…

And sometimes you realise, you always have the child inside. It is here even now. The childlish me made me write all of this now. Made me think about going somewhere far away and be happy. It is always here that kid we have, we just need to stop for a second and listen…

What does it say?
