Hi Everyone! I have new set of books this weekend, and I can’t wait to decide whether I’m keeping or removing them.

Welcome to the 35th edition of my Down The TBR Hole Posts.

How Down the TBR Hole works:

❤ 1. Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
❤ 2. Order on ascending date added.
❤ 3. Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books.
❤ 4. Read the synopsis of the books.
❤ 5. Time to Decide: keep it or should it go

Here’s the next patch:

down the tbr hole the vapire diaries l. j. smith a clash of kings game of thrones george r. r. martin ash princess the wicked king holly black looking for alaska alexander the great book books blogging blog

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera

This doesn’t seem like something I would enjoy right now. I am letting it go.

Verdict: REMOVE ✖

A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness

I am not sure. I am like, yes, and then no. And when I doubt, there is only one choice – it has to go. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have doubted in the first place.

Verdict: REMOVE ✖

The Awakening (The Vampire Diaries, #1) by L. J. Smith

I loved, loved, loved the TV Show when it aired a couple of years ago. And I remember then how bad I wanted to have and read the books. I still don’t have them, and I still haven’t read them, but I will. I definitely will do soon.

Verdict: KEEP ☑

A Clash of Kings (A Song of Ice and Fire, #2) by George R. R. Martin

The glorious ”A Song Of Ice and Fire”! I own the whole collection, and need to read it ASAP! Did you guys watched the last season of the TV Show of Game of Thrones? What a disappointing ending is all I’ll say. Let me know in the comments what you thought. No Spoilers, of course 😉

Verdict: KEEP ☑

Ash Princess (Ash Princess Trilogy #1) by Laura Sebastian

I will definitely read this one, and soon. I love everything about it, and the book cover I have also has a little gap in the middle, so you can actually see where the fire is carved. Amazing!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

Looking for Alaska by John Green

I love reading John Green. He always sets me in such a chill mood, thinking about my life. I own this one and it’s sitting on my shelves. Should I pick it up soon?

Verdict: KEEP ☑

FantasticLand by Mike Bockoven

A violent book that is a mix of The Hunger Games and Battle Royale. I want it! So bad…

Verdict: KEEP ☑

The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air, #2) by Holly Black

I loved The Cruel Prince so much, and I still don’t know how in the world I still don’t own The Wicked King. I need it!!!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

Alexander: Child of a Dream (Aléxandros, #1) by Valerio Massimo Manfredi

As a Macedonian, Alexander the Great is a proud part of my history, and I have always admired what he did while he was so young. I have read ”Spartan” by the same author and fell in love with the style of writing. When I found out this series existed, I knew I had to read it!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

Alienated: Grounded At Groom Lake by Jeff Norton

An interesting children’s book of alien high-school. I won this as a giveaway and will definitely be reading it soon!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

flower-divider-flower-dividers-clip-art-flowers-line-divider-stock-vector-illustration-of-elegantI only removed 2 books this time. When it comes to genres I love, I have a weakness. I currently have 370 books on my TBR list. This is how my TBR list looks now.

Model Spy (The Specialists, #1) by Shannon Greenland

This reminds me of Ally Carter’s ”I’d Tell You I Love You but then I’d Have to Kill You”. I loved that book… I am not sure what to do, but I do think I will pass on this one.

Verdict: REMOVE ✖

Passenger (Passenger, #1) by Alexandra Bracken

Not quite sure about this one…

I am not sure about the synopsis, but it is the writer of Divergent, so I am having trouble deciding. I think I should pass.

Verdict: REMOVE ✖

Blood Symbols by Izak Botha

I won Blood Symbols as a giveaway, and if you have been reading my blog for a while, you know that I always try and read all the books given to me. I will keep this one, because it somehow reminds me of Dan Brown’s type of books on the first sight, and I am eager to read more.

Verdict: KEEP ☑

Raven’s Gate (The Gatekeepers, #1) by Anthony Horowitz

I bought this whole series at a work event, and I still haven’t started it. I love the synopsis, but especially I love the art on the cover.

Verdict: KEEP ☑

Wonder by R. J. Palacio

You have all heard about Wonder. The only reason I still haven’t watched the movie is because I own the book and should read it soon. I will definitely read it this summer!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

Daisy’s Vintage Cornish Camper Van by Ali McNamara

This was my birthday gift to myself, as I love camper vans and I am dreading for a road tour adventure. I need to read it as soon as possible!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

The Bone Witch (The Bone Witch, #1) by Rin Chupeco

This book was recommended to me by Mel from Meltotheany, when we were talking on Instagram on how to pronounce the name Tea, as that’s my sister’s name. Mel said there an awesome series with Tea being the main character, and I just have to read it!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

The Children of Men by P. D. James

A dystopian world where children don’t exist and the last generation of people are infertile adults. I would love to see how this has been executed!

Verdict: KEEP ☑

The Man In The Mirror – Georgia Le Carre

the man in the mirror georgia le carre diary of difference book review books goodreads reader blog love romance erotica

★★★

Have you ever wanted a steamy Beauty and the Beast retelling? You might not get the Disney fantasy, but you will get the true love part. Or will you?

Charlotte is a nanny and she goes in a rich family to take care of a little boy. His mother is demanding and his father stays in his room at all times.

Mr. King survived a fire accident and half of his face is covered with a golden mask, to hide the sad memories. He almost never goes out and his son is scared of him. Also,he only visits him at night.

He always talks to his son’s nannies through the intercom, to ask about his day. But with this nanny, it feels different. He can’t wait to hear her voice.

Compared to ‘’Nanny and the Beast’’, The Man in the Mirror is not as steamy, and the love relationship feels a bit more realistic. However, the story is still under developed for my tastes.

The nannies in Georgia’s books are represented in a bit of an unrealistic way. As a nanny, I think you will always influence the child you spend time with. Bear in mind, you spend all day, every day with them. But there are rules and boundaries set by the parents, and you do not cross those. The author somehow forgot about this part, it seems.

The Man in the Mirror opens up plenty of topics for discussion and in the end, it is a quick and enjoyable read. Georgia’s books are the ones that you pick up, wanting to have a quick read moment and relax.

If this book sounds intriguing, go and grab your copy, and let me know in the comments whether you enjoyed it.
